About the Friends of Didsbury Park

The Friends of Didsbury Park was set up in 2003 to help maintain and improve the park. We’re a community group, and our funding comes from the £5 subscription fee from each of our members. As a group, we are able to apply for grants to help improve the park.

Our members are local residents, and we work closely with Manchester City Council and other local community groups. Our meetings are held four times a year and last about an hour.

Andrew Simcock - Chair of Friends of Didsbury Park Colin Evans, the park warden, attends our meetings and keeps us posted about improvements. Our local Community Support Officers, Bob and Carole also attend.

Our chair is Andrew Simcock (right) and our treasurer is Sheila Hollinshead. We currently have a vacancy for a secretary, so if you can spare 4 hours a year, please get in touch.

Want to join us?

We’re always looking for new members – all ages and abilities welcome. You can participate as much as or as little as you like – we believe all members have a valuable contribution to make. Your £5 a year will really help to keep the park beautiful.
